The heart behind the movement.
Capones and Camara Islands in Pundaquit Town, San Antonio, Zambales

Our love for Zambales has led to us take action and stop the exploitation of our mother nature, the foundation of our life system. Our culture is built on the assumption that we are the superior life form on earth. There is this fundamental illusion that people are separate from nature when the reality is that we are part of nature.
Nature has been converted to a resource which was seen as essentially and eternally abundant. This led to the idea and the conception behind progress which is limitless growth and limitless expansion. The corporate economic globalization has fueled the greatest weapon of mass destruction... global warming. We have built a waste-making system wherein for every truckload of product, 32 truckloads of waste are produced. It is mind-boggling. |
In our modern globalized world, growth continues to be the focus of many corporations who deplete our environment for economic gain. Nature has become a property which can be bought, sold, traded or destroyed. The problem is not the technology, because its available, nor is it global warming. It is not a problem of waste or too much carbon dioxide. All of these are symptoms of the problem.
The real problem is the way people think. It is clear that humans have devastating impact on our planet's ecological web of life. We have turned our backs on nature's warning signs. We are totally living in disharmony with the planet and we are paying the price. People need to be aware of the global forces that affect their lives and that will increasingly affect their lives in the future. We believe that our actions are based on our level of awareness. To win this battle to change people's minds and hearts is actually a matter of lifting levels of awareness.
If human beings are the source of the problem, we can be the foundation of the solution. Our generation is capable of completely changing this world. During this critical period of human history, healing the damage of industrial civilization is the task of our generation.
Our objective is to increase the level of awareness of the people around it. Show everyone the beauty of the local natural surroundings and hopefully make them love it enough to take personal action and stop the exploitation of the planet. Everybody making a change adds up to something meaningful. Shifting the way we act and live that creates the conditions that are conducive to life, will allow humans to be here for a long time and continue to live in the pursuit of happiness.
The mission of the Lighthouse Marina Resort Legacy Foundation was to improve the lives of people in the community through integrated and sustainable programs to enhance tourism, livelihood and environment. Though the Lighthouse has been conducting several community service programs across the region, the foundation was only formally established in 2014. What merely started with a vision, magnetized a group of individuals driven in guiding a turnaround for improving the lives of people in the community. Thus, began the Legacy Project.
Their commitment to purpose and love for Zambales has inspired them to take extra steps in creating programs that ignite change. Consequently, these actions have led them to people who share the same dream in helping humankind. As strong believers in principle of paying it forward, kindness begets kindness, and so is their hope for good deeds for a great future.
Zambales is subdivided into 13 municipalities and 1 city. Olongapo City is a highly urbanized city and administers itself autonomously from the province. Panatag Shoal (Scarborough Shoal) a Philippine-claimed EEZ, is a designated part of the province. Information from Wikipedia®
